Dr. Wipke’s last day will be June 30, 2019

On Wednesday, November 7, 2018, Fox C-6 Superintendent Dr. Jim Wipke announced his resignation effective June 30, 2019. Dr. Wipke was recently offered and accepted the position of superintendent of schools for the Ladue School District, located in St. Louis County. Dr. Wipke has served as Fox C-6 Superintendent since June 2015.

Fox C-6 Board of Education President Dawn Mullins wrote to the community shortly after the announcement:

“I want to first congratulate Dr. Wipke and thank him for his years of service here at Fox C-6. We are truly grateful for his service and wish him the very best...I am extremely confident about finding a new superintendent that will continue our forward momentum and progress.”

During Dr. Wipke’s tenure as superintendent, the district has accomplished several major goals, including:

  • Middle School Transition

  • Expansion of Early Childhood

  • Community Outreach program

  • Conversion to the block schedule at the high school

  • A balanced budget four years in a row

  • Development of a strong curricular implementation model with financial support

  • Development of a student intervention program so all students are supported in their learning

  • Development of a professional development program that is second to none

In his statement, Dr. Wipke expressed his desire for the community to continue to have hope about the future. “Working with the Fox C-6 Community has been a tremendous source of pride for me as we have collectively accomplished so much over the years,” Wipke said. “None of these accomplishments are possible without the amazing support of our community, staff, and students.”

Wipke added: “As we look to the future, there is still a lot of work to be done to reach our goals for the remainder of the school year.  It is incredibly important we stay focused and connected to accomplish these goals to create a better tomorrow for our students, staff, and entire community.”

The Fox C-6 Board of Education held a special work session to discuss Dr. Wipke’s resignation. President Mullins provided information on next steps, saying, “...we will develop a full and collaborative Superintendent Search to fill this crucial role within our district. We have begun the process to fill the position, with a goal to complete candidate interviews and make a strong decision as soon as possible, but no later than by the end of third quarter.”

Updates on how the community can be a part of the Superintendent Search will be provided as they become available.
